NAME
setcells -	update AFS cache manager CellServDB entries

SYNOPSIS
     setcells [	--help ] [ --version ] [ --verbose ] [ --debug	]
	  [ --noisy ] [	--dry-run ] [ CellservDB ... ]

DESCRIPTION
setcells is used to update	the table of AFS cell database
servers in the kernel of an AFS client	from a CellServDB
file (in the standard format used by AFS; read the	AFS docu-
mentation	from Transarc	for details on the format of this
file.) This operation requires root privilege on the local
     AFS client.

If	any CellServDB files are specified, they are each read in
turn, otherwise the setcells program will use the file
     /usr/vice/etc/CellServDB by default.

OPTIONS
     -d, --debug
	  Display debugging output.

     -D, --noisy
	  Display very verbose debugging output.

     -n, --dry-run
Don't	actually do any	thing.	Most useful for	debugging
when	combined with	either	the --noisy or --debug
options. Root privilege is	not required when this
	  option is used.

     -v, --verbose
Verbose output. By default setcells is fairly quiet,
and only displays messages about errors.

     -V, --version
Display the current version of setcells.

     -h, --help
	  Display a brief usage	message.

BUGS
Currently,	setcells does not remove old (defunct) cells from
the cache manager. A better way of dealing with defunct
cells is to remove their mount	points	in the root.afs
volume. Have your AFS	cell administrator handle this.
Announcements about changes in public cells, including remo-
val of old cells, are	generally posted to the info-
     afs@transarc.com mailing list.

DIAGNOSTICS
setcells exits with status	code 0 on success, non-zero on
     error.

ERROR MESSAGES
setcells generally	outputs	informative, intelligible error
messages to its	standard error stream. If called with
debugging or verbose options, it will also display extra
output to its standard output stream.
